Adventures with Jesus and RU-by Jacee!

This week at WBC has been so incredible! These guys are so supportive of our ministry and love what we do. We have each had the privilege of speaking in afternoon chapels and share our testimonies about using each piece of the armour of God in our lives. I was able to speak on the Shield of Faith, and it was really an incredible experience where God taught ME a lot as I prepared to speak to the kids. We were able to connect with many kids, and teach several workshops each day. I was able to teach Musical Theatre workshops all Thursday, and it was so much fun! The kids got to learn expressions, drama, and choreography to "We Go Together" from Grease. I was so blessed to be able to prepare and teach something that I am familiar with and really enjoy! I didn't make them sing however haha, they (the boys particularly) might not have appreciated that as much.

We also had the priviledge to connect with an elderly man who we met last year at WBC. Ernie is well known and dearly loved by all of us after a week with him and his constant encouraging words and wonderful hugs last summer! We were able to go to his farm and meet his wife, and we all enjoyed a piece of his famous apple pie :) We were so blessed to be able to do that, and me especially because I have been keeping in contact with him throughout the year!

All in all, I have truly appreciated connecting with the camp as a whole and being so welcomed by all the leaders, staff, and campers. WBC truly has an incredible and very blessed ministry going on here. We will miss them!

On another note, it has definitely been an adventure learning to tour while being married! It's been fun, but please pray for us as we LEARN LEARN LEARN!

On Saturday we will be at my grandparents lake cabin for a day of rest and relaxation before we continue on to perform at Sammy's church and then on to Ranger Lake Bible camp on Sunday! God knows exactly what we need and is so gracious to give it to us :)

The Ins and Outs of Winkler

Hey everyone!
After a snack with the older campers, we are heading into the time of night activities on this fine Thursday night. As I look back right now on the wonderful week we have been having, I am overjoyed at what God has been doing here at the camp! A huge blessing, and the main reason we are going to camps, is for the kids. We want to share God's love to them, and share about the love God has shown us too, and I am so excited to see the fruit from that! We have made many connections to many of the wonderful kids here, and we are continually blessed by their faith, energy, and child-like faith. It has also been amazing seeing how the camp's theme of the armour of God plays into everyday camp life. From the talks on stage, to the games outside, to the skits in the night-time, we are all constantly learning about the amazing armour of God, and how it can enrich our lives for the better. Everyone on the team has had the opportunity to share about a piece of the armor, and how it has helped them in their lives, and it is my turn to end with the sword of the Spirit tomorrow at Chapel. So wonderful to know that these kids are learning that there is a spiritual battle going on all around us, and they need to be prepared! Praise the Lord!

Sammy's thoughts...

Hey all! I want to explain a little about Winkler Bible Camp. This camp first of all is so full of ENERGY! I think my favourite part is watching a chapel full of Jr highs, intermediates and very energetic councillors overflowing the room with explosive arms and happy feet, belting out some of the sweetest camps songs I have ever heard! It's also been a blast being able to be a part of chapels as we perform dance routines each night and speak during the afternoon chapel. Another really sweet opportunity has been teaching workshops each day. The workshops consist of many styles of dance that we were able to introduce to the kids... so far we have been able to do hiphop, tutting, jerking, gliding, robotics, waving, musical theatre, and finishing off with popping and locking. (If you have no idea what these dance styles are you do not need to fret, you just need to watch some more "So you think you can dance" ;>!) Our hope in doing these workshops is to make a relateable and fun way to connect and create relationships with these kids. It is also a way of  encouraging them to have confidence in themselves and in who God has created them to be. I really love doing workshops, and watching the kids get super excited when they learn different routines. Many times this week campers have been coming up to us to show us all their cool dance moves, and with big smiles tell us how they still remember the routine from the day before!

Camp tour 2011, here we come!

      God is so good! First of all, thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts as I headed into the summer. It was a crazy, busy, amazing, and blessing-filled summer of support raising, preaching, working and resting from our recent tour in Ontario.
      The summer has been such a huge blessing! I have the amazing privilege of serving full time next year on RU, so my summer has been an adventure as I'm still learning and figuring out support raising and what my responsibilities next year will look like. I also had the amazing opportunity to preach at my church JUST before leaving for our camp tour boot camp. Before I knew it, my summer was almost over and our boot camp was upon us!
      Boot camp was absolutely amazing! It was long days of sweating, laughing, praying, laughing, and well....more laughing. I am so incredibly blessed to be doing ministry with the men and women of God that I am!! We danced and planned for camp tour from 9-12, and then again from 1-5 Wednesday to Friday, and then packed Saturday. We worked hard at revamping our dances so that we could dance them with 5 people instead of the 10-15 we usually had when we danced them. God blessed us so much with creativity, patience, and the ability to retain what we learned with ease. It was also incredible to see everyone again! It was amazing to catch up, pray for each other again, and to just spend time in fellowship and sharing what God had been doing in our lives. I'm so excited for camp tour, and so blessed to serve our God in such an amazing ministry!! Please be praying for us as we still have a few weeks on the road before heading back to Caronport to start planning for the upcoming year.
