Hey all! I want to explain a little about Winkler Bible Camp. This camp first of all is so full of ENERGY! I think my favourite part is watching a chapel full of Jr highs, intermediates and very energetic councillors overflowing the room with explosive arms and happy feet, belting out some of the sweetest camps songs I have ever heard! It's also been a blast being able to be a part of chapels as we perform dance routines each night and speak during the afternoon chapel. Another really sweet opportunity has been teaching workshops each day. The workshops consist of many styles of dance that we were able to introduce to the kids... so far we have been able to do hiphop, tutting, jerking, gliding, robotics, waving, musical theatre, and finishing off with popping and locking. (If you have no idea what these dance styles are you do not need to fret, you just need to watch some more "So you think you can dance" ;>!) Our hope in doing these workshops is to make a relateable and fun way to connect and create relationships with these kids. It is also a way of encouraging them to have confidence in themselves and in who God has created them to be. I really love doing workshops, and watching the kids get super excited when they learn different routines. Many times this week campers have been coming up to us to show us all their cool dance moves, and with big smiles tell us how they still remember the routine from the day before! Loving every moment!*
